Government Moves Forward With Supervisory Board Profiles for SEFBA

Local, | By Correspondent August 10, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The Council of Ministers has approved the final profiles for members of the Supervisory Board of Foundation for the Promotion of Education and Training in the Community (SEFBA), following advice from Curaçao’s corporate governance watchdog.

The decision was among several government resolutions adopted on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

The Council of Ministers had previously decided to submit the draft profiles for SEFBA’s supervisory board members to the Stichting Bureau Toezicht en Normering Overheidsentiteiten (SBTNO), which advises the government on corporate governance matters involving public entities.

Following SBTNO’s review, the Council agreed to formally establish the profiles in accordance with the watchdog’s advice.

The profiles set out the qualifications and requirements for individuals serving on SEFBA’s Supervisory Board and are intended to guide the selection and appointment process.

SEFBA falls under the responsibility of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport.

The government announcement did not provide details about the specific requirements included in the profiles or indicate when new supervisory board members are expected to be appointed.
