WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao government has extended its temporary XCG 100 financial support for another three months, covering August through October 2026. The extension applies only to people receiving AOV, AWW or welfare assistance, the Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Welfare (SOAW) announced.
According to SOAW, AOV pensioners and recipients of AWW survivor and orphan benefits qualify for the extension if their annual income is below XCG 30,000. People receiving welfare assistance, locally known as onderstand, are also included.
The government emphasized that the extension does not reopen the program to new applicants.
The online application portal has been closed since July 31, 2026, meaning no new applications can be submitted. This also applies to employees and small business owners earning less than XCG 30,000 annually, who were previously among the groups eligible to apply for the temporary assistance.
SOAW also published the upcoming payment schedule.
AOV and AWW recipients will receive the September payment on October 9. The payment covering October is scheduled for November 9.
For welfare recipients, the September payment was made on September 25. The final payment for October is scheduled for October 23.
The temporary support was introduced as additional financial assistance for lower-income residents. With the latest government decision, qualifying AOV, AWW and welfare recipients will continue receiving the XCG 100 monthly contribution through October.
