WILLEMSTAD – Civil servants across multiple ministries are calling for clearer and more formal mechanisms to report integrity concerns, according to the government's latest assessment of workplace ethics.
The Integrity Baseline Scan found that employees repeatedly expressed a need for accessible reporting systems where concerns about misconduct, conflicts of interest or ethical issues can be raised safely and confidentially.
Researchers found that uncertainty surrounding reporting procedures remains widespread. Many employees are unsure where concerns should be reported and whether reports will be handled appropriately.
The report identifies formal reporting channels as a crucial component of any integrity framework, noting that employees are more likely to report concerns when procedures are clear and trust exists in the system.
Government officials are expected to use the findings to strengthen reporting mechanisms and improve confidence among civil servants.
