WILLEMSTAD – The government of Curaçao has approved the establishment of a working group focused on the sustainable management of Klein Curaçao, marking a new step in environmental policy for the uninhabited island.
The decision was taken by the Council of Ministers following a proposal from the Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN). The working group will be formalized through a national decree, which will be submitted to the Governor for final approval.
The initiative aims to strengthen oversight and ensure long-term protection of Klein Curaçao, which has faced increasing pressure from tourism and environmental challenges in recent years.
