During the ceremony in Amsterdam, Bonevacia expressed his gratitude, emphasizing that the award also represents the people who have supported him throughout his career.

As part of the tradition, the winner is given the opportunity to award the Jonge Veer, a prize recognizing emerging talent. This year, Bonevacia selected Lisette Ma Neza as the recipient.

He praised Ma Neza for her distinctive voice, courage, and ability to combine strength and beauty in her work, noting that she is helping shape the future of Dutch-language literature.

The awards aim not only to honor established figures but also to encourage young talent and promote a strong reading culture among new generations.
