At the start of the session, representatives of FFP explained the foundation’s mission and how it operates.
Fundashon Fiansa Popular is a financial institution focused on making homeownership and financing more accessible to Curaçao residents.
According to the foundation, any resident of Curaçao can apply for a mortgage or loan through FFP. The institution offers financing opportunities with attractive interest rates and favorable credit conditions, aimed at helping individuals and families access housing and financial support under more accessible terms.
During the presentation, FFP outlined its financing programs, lending structure and the role it plays in supporting social and economic development on the island.
The foundation also explained how its services are designed to improve financial inclusion by providing alternatives for residents seeking mortgages or loans.
Following the presentation, members of the parliamentary committee had the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with FFP representatives about the institution’s operations, lending conditions and the challenges it faces.
The discussion allowed lawmakers to gain a clearer understanding of the foundation’s contribution to Curaçao’s housing and financing sector, particularly in a market where affordability remains a major issue.
Parliament’s Social Development, Labor and Welfare Committee regularly meets with organizations involved in social and economic development to evaluate their impact and identify where policy support or adjustments may be necessary.
The session with Fundashon Fiansa Popular forms part of Parliament’s broader oversight role in monitoring institutions that directly affect the financial and social wellbeing of the community.
No immediate policy decisions or recommendations were announced following the meeting, but the discussions highlighted the importance of accessible financing in addressing housing and economic challenges on the island.
