WILLEMSTAD – Maternity Clinic ‘Fundashon Duna Lus’ has held an introductory meeting with Minister of Health, Environment and Nature Tyron Boekhoudt (GMN) as part of efforts to strengthen Curaçao’s healthcare system.
The meeting focused on the continuity, sustainability and impact of the foundation’s work within the community. Representatives of Fundashon Duna Lus outlined their activities and highlighted their role as a mother and child center providing comprehensive care and guidance throughout pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period.
During the discussion, the organization also addressed the challenges it faces in maintaining its services in a sustainable manner. These include ongoing operational and structural issues that affect the delivery of care to mothers and newborns on the island.
The meeting forms part of a broader series of introductory sessions organized by the ministry with various stakeholders in the healthcare sector. Through these engagements, the ministry aims to strengthen collaboration, better understand sector-wide challenges and explore opportunities to improve the healthcare system in a structural and long-term way.
