FTAC Launches Study on Competition and the Business Climate in Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD – The Fair Trade Authority Curaçao (FTAC) is launching a study on competition and the business climate in Curaçao. The independent research is being conducted by RE-Quest Research & Consultancy.

Through this study, the FTAC aims to gain better insight into how entrepreneurs experience competition within their sector, which economic developments impact businesses, and which issues should be prioritized within competition policy in Curaçao.

In collaboration with the Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek Curaçao (CBS), a random sample of companies has been compiled. Selected businesses will receive an invitation from RE-Quest Research & Consultancy in the coming period, including a link to the online questionnaire.

The survey addresses topics such as:

           competition within sectors;

           rising business costs;

           unfair competition;

           awareness of competition regulations;

           priorities for the FTAC’s future agenda.

Completing the questionnaire takes approximately five minutes and is entirely anonymous.

The cooperation of entrepreneurs is of great importance to the success of the study. The more companies participate, the better the insight into the opportunities, challenges, and experiences within the Curaçao business community.

“With this study, we aim to make the voice of entrepreneurs in Curaçao visible. The results will provide valuable insights for policy, market dynamics, and a healthy business climate,” according to RE-Quest Research & Consultancy.

The study builds on an earlier survey conducted in 2017, making it possible to identify developments over time.

RE-Quest and the FTAC therefore hope for broad participation from businesses across Curaçao.
