WILLEMSTAD – Police arrested four youths on Monday morning after they were allegedly caught dismantling a vehicle behind a residence in Kaya Eugene Testing.
According to the Curaçao Police Force (KPC), the police dispatch center received a report at approximately 9:36 a.m. indicating that several individuals were taking apart a vehicle at the location.
Multiple police units were immediately dispatched to the scene and secured the area.
Upon arrival, officers found four individuals actively dismantling the vehicle. The suspects were identified as youths aged 13, 16, 17, and 19 years old.
All four were arrested at the scene without incident.
The suspects were later brought before an assistant public prosecutor, who ordered that they remain in custody pending further investigation into the case.
Police also seized the vehicle as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding the ownership of the vehicle or whether it had been reported stolen.
The police emphasized the importance of community cooperation and reporting suspicious activity. According to KPC, the timely tip received by the dispatch center played a key role in allowing officers to respond quickly and apprehend the suspects.
The investigation remains ongoing.
