WILLEMSTAD – Only four teams remain in contention for the championship of Curaçao’s 2026 Children’s World Cup after months of matches and qualifying rounds narrowed the field to Morocco, Argentina, Algeria, and Germany.

The four teams have secured places in the semifinals and will battle on Sunday at the Antoine Maduro Stadium in Saliña for a chance to lift the tournament trophy.

The competition began with teams representing all 48 countries participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. After several months of competition, only the strongest teams remain, setting the stage for what organizers expect to be an exciting final day of youth football.

According to the organizers, the tournament is about much more than winning matches. Throughout the competition, emphasis has been placed on sportsmanship, discipline, respect, teamwork, and the development of young footballers both on and off the field.

Supporters, family members, and football enthusiasts are expected to fill the Antoine Maduro Stadium on Sunday as the semifinalists compete for a place in the final. Organizers say the event has created an international atmosphere while providing young players with an opportunity to showcase their talent before a larger audience.

Morocco, Argentina, Algeria, and Germany have all distinguished themselves during the tournament and enter the final day with realistic hopes of becoming champions.

With the conclusion of the competition now in sight, organizers say the tournament has successfully demonstrated that the future of football is already visible in the next generation of players. By the end of Sunday's matches, one team will earn the title of Children’s World Cup 2026 champion.

The final day is expected to bring together some of the island’s most promising young football talent in a celebration of youth sports and international competition.
