WILLEMSTAD – On Tuesday, 24 February 2026, former chair of the College financieel toezicht, Lidewijde Ongering, paid a farewell visit to the Governor of Curaçao, His Excellency Mauritsz de Kort.
During the meeting, the Governor thanked Ongering for her commitment and dedication since taking office as chair of the CFT in early 2023. Over the past years, she led oversight of public finances and contributed to further strengthening financial management and budgetary discipline in Curaçao.
The discussion also addressed the most pressing financial challenges currently facing the country, reflecting on the ongoing need for sound fiscal governance and sustainable public finances.
Ongering’s term as chair of the CFT officially ended on 1 February. The Governor expressed his appreciation for the constructive cooperation during her tenure and acknowledged her role in supporting financial oversight within the Kingdom framework.
