Flow Wins Three Ookla Awards for Mobile Network Performance in Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD – Telecommunications provider Flow has been recognized with three major awards for its mobile network performance in Curaçao, receiving distinctions for Best Mobile Coverage, Fastest Mobile Speed, and Best Mobile Network from global network analytics company Ookla.

The awards were presented based on independent network performance measurements conducted by Ookla, which is widely regarded as a leading authority in internet and mobile network testing through its Speedtest platform.

According to Flow, the recognition reflects the results of an operational improvement plan launched in 2025 aimed at strengthening network quality and customer experience across the island.

Despite the awards, the company acknowledged that criticism of its services remains a concern among customers. Flow's management said it is aware of ongoing complaints and is working to improve customer service as part of a broader modernization effort.

One of the key initiatives is the planned launch of a new “super app” before the end of the year. The application is expected to allow customers to pay bills, submit questions, report service disruptions and access other customer support services directly from their mobile devices.

Flow also announced that its parent company, Liberty Caribbean, has committed more than $12 million in additional investment to further strengthen the island's digital infrastructure. The investment is expected to support continued network upgrades and service improvements.

As Curaçao continues to celebrate its historic participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Flow has also increased network capacity around World Cup fan zones, including locations in Otrobanda and Barber, where large crowds are expected to gather to watch matches.

The company, however, reminded customers that restrictions remain in place regarding the broadcast of World Cup matches on certain channels. According to Flow, these limitations are being enforced under FIFA regulations because television station Nos Pais holds the exclusive broadcasting rights for Curaçao.

Flow said the combination of network investments, infrastructure upgrades and customer service improvements is intended to ensure that residents and visitors benefit from a stronger and more reliable telecommunications experience in the years ahead.
