WILLEMSTAD – The Director-General of the Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIOD) of the Netherlands, Niels Obbink, paid an introductory visit to the Governor of Curaçao on Friday, March 20, 2026.
Obbink was accompanied by Helma Citroen, Head of the FIOD’s International Division. During the meeting, discussions focused on cooperation in tackling financial and organized crime, including tax-related offenses.
As part of this collaboration, the FIOD provides investigative capacity to Curaçao through the RST (Recherche Samenwerkingsteam), supporting local authorities in combating complex and cross-border criminal activities.
The visit underscored the ongoing partnership between Curaçao and the Netherlands in strengthening law enforcement efforts against financial crime.
