Financial settlement with CMC still unresolved

| By Correspondent February 25, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Outstanding financial issues related to the Curaçao Medical Center remain unresolved, according to the government’s latest execution report. Although progress has been made, a final agreement on construction costs and related obligations has not yet been reached.

The report notes that the government’s financial exposure remains provisional, with risks for future budgets and healthcare financing. The Ministry of Finance emphasizes the need for clarity to ensure transparency and prevent long-term liabilities from escalating.

The unresolved settlement continues to draw attention given the central role of CMC in the island’s healthcare system.
