WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Football Federation (FFK) is facing a period of major internal change after Secretary-General Jan Peter Dogge announced his departure, following the earlier resignation of President Gilbert Martina.
Dogge informed the federation that his employment contract will end on October 31, 2026. His departure comes at a sensitive moment for the organization, which is dealing with unanswered questions from affiliated clubs regarding the financial management surrounding Curaçao’s historic World Cup campaign.
The leadership changes have raised concerns about continuity within the federation. While Curaçao achieved a historic sporting milestone by qualifying for the World Cup, questions are now being raised about the administrative and financial processes behind the scenes.
The clubs have requested clarity about the money received through sponsors, merchandise sales and government support. They also want information about expenses, outstanding obligations and the remaining balance after the World Cup project.
Former FFK President Gilbert Martina previously indicated that the financial overview would be provided within ten days. That deadline has passed, and the current acting president later requested additional time.
The continued delay has increased frustration among clubs, who argue that transparency is necessary to protect confidence in the federation.
The issue is not proof of financial wrongdoing, but the lack of timely information has contributed to speculation and distrust, according to critics.
Dogge will remain with the federation until the end of October to ensure a proper transition. That transition, however, will involve more than handing over documents and ongoing files. It must also include clarity regarding decisions, contracts and financial commitments made during his period as secretary-general.
