Family Members Must Match Main Applicant’s Permit Duration Under New Rules

| By Correspondent March 18, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – New immigration rules in Curaçao will require dependent family members to hold residence permits with the same duration as the main applicant.

The policy, which takes effect April 1, 2026, applies to cases of family reunification and formation. Authorities clarified that it will no longer be possible for dependents to receive longer permits than the primary applicant.

As with all applications, fees must be paid in advance for each year requested. The measure aims to create consistency and clarity within the immigration system.
