THE HAGUE – An independent evaluation has concluded that the reform cooperation between Curaçao and the Netherlands has played an important role in launching long-delayed reforms and strengthening government institutions.
According to the Temporary Work Organization (TWO) annual report, the evaluation committee found that the reform agenda was exceptionally broad and ambitious, but that cooperation has contributed to stronger implementation capacity, greater knowledge sharing and institutional development.
The committee’s findings come as discussions continue over whether the cooperation framework should continue beyond its current expiration date in April 2027.
Program manager Judith Jeurissen noted that many reforms remain unfinished and that maintaining the current course will remain a priority throughout 2026.
