Evaluation Committee presents findings on reform cooperation to Council of Ministers

WILLEMSTAD – The Evaluation Committee on the Mutual Arrangement for Cooperation on Reforms has presented its conclusions and recommendations to the Council of Ministers.

The presentation took place on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, and focused on the cooperation between the countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands under the reform agenda introduced in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 crisis.

According to the committee, the collaboration has contributed to initiating reform processes and strengthening institutional and economic foundations in the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom. At the same time, the report notes that the pace of reforms remains dependent on available capacity, prioritization, and continuity in implementation.

The committee emphasized that while progress has been made, sustained effort and coordination between the countries are essential to ensure long-term results.

Members of the Evaluation Committee present at the meeting included Chair Maria C. van der Sluijs-Plantz, Angel R. Bermudez representing Aruba, Francis de Lanoy representing Curaçao, Cees F.J. Slager representing the Netherlands, Franklyn E. Richards representing Sint Maarten, and Secretary Steven I. Boekhoudt.
