WILLEMSTAD – Eight employees of the Curaçao Detention and Correction Center (SDKK) received their certificates in “Scanner Image Interpretation” on Monday, September 28, after completing specialized security training.
The training was provided by Smart Security Consultancy & Training, a company specializing in training across various areas of security.
The eight prison security officers completed both theoretical and practical components during the two-week course.
The program was designed to improve the officers’ knowledge and skills in interpreting X-ray scanner images during security checks at the entrance to the prison. The training is intended to strengthen security procedures and improve the level of screening carried out at the institution.
During the certificate ceremony, Deputy Director Anthony Hasselmeijer addressed the participants, along with Gilbert Cijntje of ICUC and Smart Security Consultancy & Training instructors Rudwin Mogen and Eulogio Martina.
The participating officers also briefly shared their experiences and what they had learned during the two-week training program.
SDKK management said it is pleased with the achievement and intends to continue investing in the professional development of its personnel.
According to the prison administration, continued training of employees is important to maintaining and improving both security and the quality of services within the correctional facility.
