WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao will take center stage in Dutch sports and current affairs television this summer as two of the Netherlands’ most-watched talk shows, Vandaag Inside and De Oranjezomer, broadcast live from the island.
Travel company Corendon announced that the programs will air for several weeks in May and June from Mondi Beach Club, located next to the Corendon Mangrove and The Rif resorts. The broadcasts come as global attention builds ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Mondi Beach Club, overlooking the Caribbean Sea, will serve as the backdrop for the shows. Corendon’s involvement is closely tied to its role as a main sponsor of the Curaçao Football Federation, positioning the company at the heart of the island’s growing football momentum.
Preparations for the broadcasts began in March and have now been finalized.
“Since Curaçao’s historic qualification for the World Cup, football is more alive than ever on the island, and you can feel that everywhere,” said Corendon’s commercial director. “Having Vandaag Inside and De Oranjezomer broadcast from our resort fits perfectly with that energy. We are not only showing the discussions and analysis to viewers in the Netherlands, but also the unique atmosphere of Curaçao—sun, energy, and football all come together here.”
Vandaag Inside will kick off the series on Monday, May 18, with hosts Wilfred Genee, Johan Derksen, and René van der Gijp discussing news and current events alongside a mix of regular and guest contributors. Among those expected to join are U.S. expert Raymond Mens, political reporter Merel Ek, and sports journalist Valentijn Driessen.
Following their run, De Oranjezomer will take over, hosted by Hélène Hendriks together with Rutger Castricum and a rotating panel of guests. The program will focus on current affairs and the summer sports season. The first Curaçao episode of De Oranjezomer, presented by Thomas van Groningen, is scheduled for Sunday, May 31.
With both shows broadcasting from the island, Curaçao is set to gain significant exposure in the Dutch media landscape during a key period leading up to the World Cup.
