THE HAGUE – Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten has reaffirmed the Netherlands’ continued support for Ukraine, marking four years since the start of Russia’s invasion. In a public statement, Jetten reflected on the heavy human toll, widespread destruction and ongoing daily struggle faced by the Ukrainian population since the beginning of the conflict.
According to the prime minister, Ukraine can continue to count on Dutch support, both now and in the future. He emphasized this message during a digital meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, where a broad group of international leaders reiterated their commitment to Ukraine. Jetten stressed the importance of restating that support precisely on the anniversary of the invasion.

During the meeting, leaders discussed key elements of ongoing and future assistance. One of the central topics was the need for strong security guarantees for Ukraine once a peace agreement is reached, aimed at collectively deterring any renewed Russian aggression. At the same time, Jetten underlined that pressure on Russia must be maintained and intensified until a lasting peace is achieved.
The Dutch prime minister said that unity among allies remains crucial. “We are strongest when we continue to act together, alongside Ukraine,” he stated, adding that Ukraine’s struggle is inseparable from the security of Europe and its partners. According to Jetten, the safety of Ukraine is directly linked to the safety of other nations, reinforcing the need for sustained international cooperation.
