Dutch Foundation for Literature makes a visit to the ABCSSS Islands

Local, The Netherlands, | By Press release April 29, 2026

WILLEMSTAD - From the 17th till the 27th of May, three staff members from the Dutch Foundation for Literature will visit the six islands in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom: Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius and Sint Maarten. During this visit, the Dutch Foundation for Literature will organise networking events for literary creators and organisations. Here, our staff will highlight the grant schemes and writers, translators and literary organisations will have the opportunity to ask questions.

This working visit follows a previous trip of the fund. At that time, valuable insights were gathered regarding the needs and wishes of local creators, institutions and cultural organisations. Based on this, many of the foundation’s grant schemes have been made more accessible to applicants in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. The aim of this trip is to further build on good coordination with local creators and organisations. Apart from that, we will highlight the expanded grant opportunities. Through networking events and discussions, potential applicants will be guided through our grant system and introduced to the various grant opportunities.

Are you based on the islands and working in the literary sector, or are you a literary creator? If so, you are very welcome to attend one of the  networking sessions. Here, our staff will tell you more about the various grant schemes and help you identify which scheme best suits your project.
