WILLEMSTAD – The Corps Consulaire of Curaçao hosted a World Cup Final watch party on Sunday, bringing together members of the diplomatic community and invited guests to watch the conclusion of football's biggest tournament. The evening ended in celebration as Spain captured the FIFA World Cup title.
Among those in attendance were Governor Mauritsz de Kort; Honorary Consul of Spain Omar van der Dijs; Dean of the Corps Consulaire Ralph Obersi; Head of the U.S. Consulate Ramón "Chico" Negrón; Consul General of the People's Republic of China Zhang Kaibin; Consul General of Colombia Pablo Rebolledo; and other members of Curaçao's diplomatic corps.
Beyond watching the championship match, the gathering highlighted the spirit of friendship, cooperation and mutual respect shared among the diplomatic community in Curaçao. Representatives of various countries came together in an atmosphere of camaraderie, demonstrating how sport can bring people together across cultures and national borders.
Following the event, the Corps Consulaire of Curaçao congratulated the people and Government of Spain on the national team's World Cup triumph, praising the players for their dedication, excellence and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
