DC ANSP Financial Position Strong Despite Pandemic Impact

Local, International, | By Correspondent April 15, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Dutch Caribbean Air Navigation Service Provider (DC ANSP) has demonstrated a strong financial recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a recent evaluation report.

The company experienced a significant drop in revenue and results in 2020 and 2021 due to reduced air traffic. However, by 2022 and 2023, operations had rebounded, with revenues rising to over 33 million guilders and profitability restored.

The report highlights that DC ANSP maintains a solid financial position, with healthy solvency and liquidity ratios. This stability is seen as a factor supporting the feasibility of potential changes in ownership.

Air traffic services are primarily funded through user fees paid by airlines, based on international “cost recovery” principles. The Dutch government also provides limited subsidies to support connectivity to Bonaire.

Despite financial stability, the report notes that future decisions regarding ownership must carefully consider long-term sustainability and service quality.
