WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao athlete Zion Sambo delivered a strong performance at the Dutch Team Championships in Hilversum on Sunday, winning gold in the 100 meters while competing in the under-20 category.

The 18-year-old represented Rotterdam Atletiek during the competition and demonstrated his sprinting ability by winning his 100-meter race and securing the gold medal.

Sambo also competed in the 400 meters, where he crossed the finish line in 50.33 seconds.

The performance in Hilversum adds another achievement for the young Curaçao sprinter as he continues competing in the Netherlands and developing at the under-20 level.

His victory in the 100 meters is particularly significant as Sambo continues to establish himself among young athletes competing in Dutch athletics.

In addition to his gold-medal performance in the sprint, his participation in the 400 meters demonstrated his ability to compete across different distances during the championship.

Sambo currently competes for Rotterdam Atletiek, one of the athletics clubs in the Netherlands, while representing a new generation of Curaçao track talent competing internationally.
