Curaçao Volunteer Corps Introduces New Uniform to Strengthen Professionalism and Visibility

Local, | By Press release November 3, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Volunteer Corps (Vrijwilligers Korps Curaçao, VKC) has officially introduced a new uniform, marking another step in the organization's ongoing development and efforts to strengthen its professional appearance, visibility, and identity within the community.

The new uniform, which took effect on November 1, 2026, was presented by VKC Commander Lieutenant Colonel Ademar Doran, who described the change as a symbol of pride, dedication, and the collective commitment of the organization's volunteers to serving Curaçao.

According to the VKC, the redesigned uniform combines professionalism, recognizability, and comfort while reflecting the organization's core values of commitment, unity, and community service.

The new appearance is intended not only to modernize the corps' image but also to improve the practical working conditions of volunteers during their activities.

Modern Design Adapted to Curaçao's Climate

One of the main considerations behind the new uniform is the need for comfortable and functional clothing suitable for Curaçao's tropical climate.

The uniform features a light beige shirt with dark blue accents, dark blue trousers, black boots, and a matching beret.

The design incorporates durable materials, improved ventilation, and breathable, sweat-resistant fabric to help volunteers remain comfortable while carrying out their responsibilities.

According to the organization, the new uniform also improves visibility and recognition through reflective elements, making VKC personnel more easily identifiable during operations and public activities.

The redesigned clothing is suitable for both operational duties and public appearances, allowing volunteers to maintain a consistent and professional appearance in different settings.

The VKC has also retained distinctive elements of its institutional identity, including the traditional beret and the blue uniform shirt associated with the organization.

More Than a Change in Appearance

Commander Doran emphasized that the introduction of the new uniform represents more than a change in clothing.

For the organization, it symbolizes the dedication of volunteers who make themselves available to serve the Curaçao community.

The VKC considers the uniform an expression of its continued organizational development and its commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism.

The updated design is also intended to reinforce a sense of unity and belonging among volunteers while strengthening the organization's visibility and recognition among members of the public.

According to the corps, the introduction of the new uniform reflects its determination to continue developing as an organization while preserving the values that guide its community service.

Commander Thanks Volunteers and Supporters

In announcing the introduction of the uniform, Lieutenant Colonel Doran expressed his appreciation to everyone who contributed to the redesign and implementation process.

He specifically thanked the individuals, organizations, and volunteers whose efforts helped make the modernization possible.

The commander also congratulated the VKC community on reaching another milestone in the organization's development.

With the introduction of the new uniform, the Curaçao Volunteer Corps aims to reinforce its professional identity while recognizing the dedication of the volunteers who contribute their time and efforts to serving the island.
