WILLEMSTAD – Travel agents and tour operators from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Poland have visited Curaçao as part of the Europe Trade Symposium 2026, an initiative designed to generate new partnerships and future bookings from important European tourism markets.
The symposium was organized by the Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA), Curaçao Tourist Board and Curaçao Airport Partners.
During the program, European travel professionals visited more than 17 hotels and other accommodations, giving them firsthand experience with the tourism products they can recommend and sell to clients in their home markets.
Participants were also introduced to attractions and neighborhoods beyond the traditional hotel experience, including Hofi Mango and Otrobanda.
An important part of the symposium consisted of individual business meetings between the European travel professionals and more than 25 Curaçao hotels, tourism companies, tour operators and activity providers.
The meetings were intended to establish direct commercial relationships and create opportunities for future bookings.
The event also provided Curaçao with an opportunity to present a broader image of the destination to travel professionals who influence the vacation choices of European consumers.
CHATA Director Anuschka Cova said Curaçao is increasingly interested in attracting visitors who appreciate the island’s nature, population and heritage and who can contribute to sustainable tourism development.
The symposium concluded with an event at the Hato Caves, where participants experienced local music, Curaçao cuisine and products from local businesses.
According to CHATA, the Europe Trade Symposium strengthened Curaçao’s relationships with European travel professionals while opening new opportunities for cooperation between international sellers and local tourism businesses.
The initiative also highlights Curaçao’s effort to diversify and strengthen its position in European markets beyond the Netherlands by developing relationships with travel professionals in countries such as Belgium, Germany and Poland.
