WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao’s Traffic and Transportation Service (UOVV) is inviting the public, and especially everyone working in the public transportation sector, to attend the celebration of National Public Transportation Day on Sunday, August 16, at 10:00 a.m. at the church in Soto.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the observance in Curaçao and will serve as a special moment to recognize and appreciate the important contribution the public transportation sector makes to the community every day.
National Public Transportation Day was established by ministerial decree on July 29, 2016. The third Sunday of August was officially designated as the annual day to recognize public transportation in Curaçao.
The 10th anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on the value of drivers, permit holders, school transportation operators, tourist transportation providers, bus operators and other professionals active in the sector.
According to UOVV, all of these groups contribute to the social and economic development of the island.
Everyone connected to public transportation is invited to attend the church service as a moment of reflection, gratitude and unity.
