Curaçao to Host Dutch Caribbean Cyber Conference Following Strong Aruba Debut

Local, Technology, | By Correspondent June 2, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Cybersecurity professionals, government officials, and business leaders from across the Dutch Caribbean will gather in Curaçao next week for the second edition of the Dutch Caribbean Cyber Conference, an event focused on strengthening digital resilience and addressing the growing threat of cybercrime.

The conference will take place on June 4 at the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS) and follows a successful inaugural edition in Aruba that attracted more than 225 participants.

Cybersecurity Rising on Regional Agenda

Organizers say the strong turnout in Aruba demonstrated growing awareness throughout the Caribbean part of the Kingdom about the importance of cybersecurity in an increasingly digital world.

The first conference brought together representatives from various sectors to discuss cybercrime, digital resilience, and the risks associated with rapid technological development and digital transformation.

Building on that momentum, the Curaçao event will feature an expanded program with additional international experts and a broader range of topics.

International Experts to Share Insights

Among the speakers scheduled to participate are cybersecurity specialist Dave Maasland of ESET Netherlands, Tim Murck of HackShield Future Cyber Heroes, Daniel Yung, Caetano Kluyver of CyberVade, and René Poot of Justspark.

The conference will address a variety of cybersecurity challenges facing organizations and governments, including phishing attacks, data privacy, cybercrime, business continuity, and the impact of cyber incidents on critical operations.

Participants will also explore strategies for improving preparedness and strengthening defenses against increasingly sophisticated digital threats.

Strengthening Digital Resilience

According to the organizers, one of the primary goals of the conference is to encourage more open discussion about cyber risks and vulnerabilities within both the public and private sectors.

As cyberattacks continue to affect governments, financial institutions, healthcare providers, and businesses worldwide, organizations in the Caribbean are being urged to take proactive steps to improve cybersecurity awareness and response capabilities.

The conference aims to provide practical knowledge, foster collaboration, and help organizations better prepare for digital incidents that could disrupt services, compromise sensitive information, or impact business operations.

With cybersecurity becoming an increasingly important issue for economies and governments across the region, organizers hope the Dutch Caribbean Cyber Conference will become a key platform for sharing expertise and promoting a stronger culture of digital security throughout the Kingdom.
