Curaçao to Benefit from €500,000 Annual Investment in Caribbean Anti-Crime Platform

Local, | By Correspondent February 10, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao is expected to benefit from a structural €500,000 annual allocation from the Netherlands aimed at strengthening the Caribbean-wide fight against organized and undermining crime.

During the JVO meeting, ministers reviewed developments within the Ondermijningsplatform Cariben, a multidisciplinary platform designed to improve cooperation in combating criminal infiltration of legitimate institutions and businesses.

The funding, provided through the Dutch Directorate-General for Undermining Crime (DGO), is intended to strengthen intelligence sharing, network coordination and strategic partnerships across the Kingdom. For Curaçao, this means improved access to cross-border data, enhanced analytical capacity and better coordination with Aruba, Sint Maarten and Dutch services.

The initiative reflects growing recognition that organized crime in the Caribbean operates across borders, requiring synchronized responses rather than isolated local actions.
