WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Probation Service (UO Reclassering Curaçao) has taken another step in preparations for the implementation of the new Code of Criminal Procedure, holding consultations with the Curaçao Public Prosecutor’s Office on how both organizations will operate under the new legislation.
The meeting focused primarily on working procedures and cooperation between the Probation Service and the Public Prosecutor’s Office once the new criminal procedure rules take effect.
According to UO Reclassering Curaçao, representatives of both organizations exchanged ideas, discussed several important operational issues and reached agreements intended to contribute to effective implementation of the new code.
The discussions are part of broader preparations within Curaçao’s criminal justice system, where different organizations will have to adjust their procedures and coordinate their responsibilities under the new legislation.
The Probation Service stressed that communication and coordination among organizations in the judicial chain will be essential for the transition to work properly.
For UO Reclassering Curaçao, implementation of the new Code of Criminal Procedure will also affect how it coordinates its work with prosecutors during different stages of criminal proceedings.
The organization said it remains committed to working with its partners in the justice system to ensure that the new procedures can be implemented successfully.
The latest consultation with the Public Prosecutor’s Office represents another stage in that preparation process, with both organizations seeking to have their working arrangements in place ahead of implementation.
