WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao Pride 2026 begins this week under the theme “Making Waves,” inviting the LGBTQ+ community, allies, families, friends and visitors to celebrate and help build a more inclusive island.
Making Waves is about showing up for ourselves and each other. This year’s programme brings together art, music and community, including the opening of art exhibition CONTINUUM, the Sip & Paint workshop at Baghira, and the Pride Parade, starting at the Renaissance mall and continuing to Wilhelminaplein for the Pride Concert.
Alongside performances, the concert will feature community voices speaking about identity, family support and caring for one another.
Celebration with a purpose
Pride is a time for joy, but also a reminder that there is still much to stand up for. Everyone deserves to feel safe, accepted and respected at home, at school, at work and in everyday life. Challenging discrimination and breaking down stigma requires support beyond Pride week.
Everybody has a story worth hearing. Curaçao Pride encourages people to listen, create honest dialogue and show their support as allies. Businesses, workplaces and community organisations are also invited to take part and turn that support into everyday action.
Whether you join an event, walk in the parade or start a conversation about inclusion, you can help make waves. Everyone is welcome.
