WILLEMSTAD – Two officers from the Curaçao Police Force (KPC) have traveled to the United States to assist with security operations related to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Police officers Liane Kramers and Rayvon Raphaela recently departed for West Virginia as part of the international security coordination effort that accompanies the world's largest football tournament.

According to KPC, every country participating in the FIFA World Cup is required to designate two police representatives to work alongside host-country authorities and FIFA security officials. Their role is to facilitate communication, provide support regarding their national team and supporters, and help ensure the safety and security of players, staff and fans during the tournament.

The two Curaçao officers will work closely with U.S. law enforcement agencies and FIFA officials in the coming weeks. They will also be responsible for assisting with matters involving Curaçao's national football team, known as the Blue Wave, as well as supporters traveling to the United States for the historic tournament.

As part of their assignment, Kramers and Raphaela will operate from FIFA's Command Center during matches involving the Curaçao national team. The deployment will allow them to gain valuable international experience and specialized knowledge in managing security operations at a major global sporting event.

Commissioner Bryan, a member of the police management team, offered words of encouragement and appreciation to both officers before their departure, acknowledging the important responsibility they will carry while representing Curaçao abroad.

The deployment comes as Curaçao prepares for its first-ever appearance at the FIFA World Cup, a milestone that has generated widespread excitement across the island.

The Curaçao Police Force wished both officers success in their mission and thanked them for their service in helping safeguard the country's delegation and supporters during the tournament.
