WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Police Force (KPC) has launched a new island-wide security operation called "Satis Est"—Latin for "It is enough"—aimed at strengthening public safety and restoring peace across the island.
As part of the operation, additional police units will be deployed around the clock in neighborhoods throughout Curaçao. Officers will conduct increased patrols and targeted enforcement actions in an effort to deter criminal activity and reassure the public.
According to the police, crime statistics for the first half of the year show an overall decline in many types of criminal activity. However, authorities have identified a concerning increase in specific offenses, particularly vehicle theft, the theft of vehicle parts, and burglaries targeting homes and businesses.
The operation will focus on preventive patrols in vulnerable areas while also carrying out targeted traffic checks and enforcement against the illegal possession of firearms and narcotics, as well as other forms of criminal activity.
Police acknowledged that the increased checkpoints and enforcement measures may cause temporary inconvenience to motorists and residents, but stressed that the initiative is intended to improve safety for everyone on the island.
Authorities are also urging the public to remain vigilant and follow crime prevention advice, including taking steps to better secure their homes, businesses and vehicles. Police emphasized that community cooperation remains an important element in preventing crime and helping maintain public order.
