WILLEMSTAD – A delegation from the Curaçao Police Force (KPC) is currently on a working visit to the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee in the Netherlands as part of efforts to strengthen border security and improve leadership within Curaçao’s immigration service.

The working visit, which continues through Wednesday, focuses on exchanging knowledge and practical experience between Curaçao police officials and their Dutch counterparts.

During the visit, the delegation is observing operational procedures at several strategically important border locations in the Netherlands.

The Curaçao officials are visiting Amsterdam Airport Schiphol as well as Rotterdam The Hague Airport and Eindhoven Airport to gain insight into border-control operations at major and regional airports.

The program also includes a visit to the seaport of Hoek van Holland, allowing the delegation to examine immigration and border-control procedures involving maritime traffic.

The initiative is aimed at using the experience gained in the Netherlands to further strengthen Curaçao’s border-management capabilities while also raising the leadership level within the island’s immigration service.

The working visit provides KPC officials with an opportunity to compare operational procedures and exchange experiences with the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, which is responsible for several border-control and security duties in the Netherlands.
