Curaçao Parliament’s Justice Committee Discusses Undocumented Migrants With Amnesty International

WILLEMSTAD – The Justice Committee of the Curaçao Parliament met with representatives of Amnesty International Netherlands on Tuesday, October 6, to discuss human rights issues, including the current situation of undocumented migrants.

The meeting also addressed Amnesty International’s “Multi-Year Strategy 2026–2030” and its “Progress Report 2023.”

During the meeting, members of the Justice Committee had the opportunity to question Amnesty International representatives about the reports and exchange views on the issues raised.

Particular attention was given to the situation of undocumented persons, an issue that has been the subject of human rights discussions in Curaçao.

The parliamentary statement did not provide details on specific concerns raised by Amnesty International, the questions posed by MPs or whether concrete agreements or follow-up actions resulted from the meeting.
