WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Parliament will resume a previously suspended public meeting on Tuesday, August 25, to discuss the latest developments involving ORYX/VIGOR and Global Oil in relation to the operation of Curaçao’s refinery.
According to a letter sent to the media by the Clerk of Parliament, the meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m.
The parliamentary session was originally suspended on Monday, February 9, 2026. One of the items on the agenda was a discussion with Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas concerning the latest developments surrounding ORYX/VIGOR and Global Oil and their connection to refinery operations.
The debate will now continue under the direction of the Vice-President of Parliament.
The refinery and the future use of the industrial facilities have remained important political and economic issues in Curaçao, with Parliament repeatedly seeking clarification from the government about negotiations, potential operators and the broader plans for the energy and industrial sector.
Tuesday’s meeting will give Members of Parliament another opportunity to question the prime minister about developments involving the companies and the status of refinery-related activities.
The resumed public meeting is scheduled for August 25 at 9:00 a.m.
