Curaçao Parliament Honors Little League World Champions and Senior League Runners-Up

WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao Parliament welcomed the island’s Little League world champions and Senior League world runners-up on Monday, September 7, recognizing the young baseball players for their outstanding performances on the international stage.

The Little League team was honored after capturing the world championship in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, bringing the title back to Curaçao after a 22-year wait.

The achievement marked another major moment for Curaçao baseball and once again placed the island in the international sporting spotlight.

Curaçao’s Senior League team was also received by Parliament in recognition of its impressive run to the world championship final, where the team finished as runner-up.

During the reception, President of Parliament Fergino Brownbill presented gifts to the young athletes on behalf of Curaçao Parliament. The gesture was intended to recognize both their achievements and their contribution to Curaçao sports.

Parliamentary faction leaders also addressed the players, congratulating them on their performances and wishing them continued success in their sporting careers.

The parliamentarians expressed pride in the young athletes, highlighting the significance of their accomplishments for an island with a long and successful baseball tradition.

The reception gave Parliament an opportunity to formally recognize two Curaçao youth teams that reached the highest levels of their respective international Little League competitions in 2026.
