Curaçao Opens New Interactive Museum with Focus on Art, Culture and Innovation

WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao has added a new cultural attraction with the opening of the Curaçao Interactive Experience Museum, a venue that combines an interactive permanent exhibition with a dynamic program of rotating art displays.

The museum aims to highlight the island’s history, nature and culture, while distinguishing itself through immersive experiences and contemporary artistic interpretations. Organizers say the combination is designed to offer visitors both educational value and a fresh, engaging perspective on Curaçao.

As part of its launch program, the museum will open its second temporary exhibition on Saturday, April 4, featuring work by Marcel van Duijneveldt.

In this new exhibition, Van Duijneveldt presents a fictional metro system for Curaçao. Using digital techniques and image manipulation, he creates an underground map with stations and connections that reimagine well-known locations on the island. The concept invites visitors to reflect on themes such as mobility, infrastructure and the future development of Curaçao.

The temporary exhibitions are designed to complement the themes explored in the museum’s permanent collection, offering new angles and interpretations with each installation.

The exhibition will officially open on Saturday, April 4 at 8:00 PM at the West End Building in Brionplein. Admission is free, making the event accessible to the wider community.

With its interactive approach and evolving program, the museum is positioning itself as a new platform for cultural expression and dialogue on the island.
