WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao will begin its Concacaf Nations League campaign on September 24 with an away match against Costa Rica. The Blue Wave will then return home for a match against Nicaragua before facing Trinidad and Tobago twice in the final two group matches.
Curaçao has been drawn into Group A of League A, the highest division of the Concacaf Nations League. The team, led by head coach Dick Advocaat, will compete against Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Trinidad and Tobago, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
Under the competition format used by Concacaf, Curaçao will play four group-stage matches during the September and October international windows.

Curaçao will open the tournament on September 24 against Costa Rica in an away match. Three days later, on September 27, Nicaragua will visit Curaçao. On October 1, the Blue Wave will host Trinidad and Tobago before traveling to Trinidad and Tobago on October 4 for the final group match.
Based on the current Concacaf rankings, Curaçao faces a challenging but realistic task. Costa Rica is considered the strongest opponent in the group, while Trinidad and Tobago and Curaçao are closely matched in the regional rankings. Nicaragua is currently ranked lower than the other opponents Curaçao will face during this stage.
The Nations League carries additional importance because it serves as qualification for the 2027 Concacaf Gold Cup. After the group stage in September and October, the top teams will advance to the quarterfinals in November.
The quarterfinal stage will also include the four highest-ranked teams in the region: Mexico, the United States, Canada and Panama.
For Curaçao, the tournament represents another important opportunity to build on the momentum created by the national team's historic World Cup participation and secure a place among the region's top football nations.
