Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival Generates Millions in Economic Impact

WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival continues to deliver a significant economic boost to Curaçao, generating millions in tourism spending and reinforcing its role as a key driver of the island’s economy.

According to the latest impact analysis, the 2025 edition of the festival attracted 6,232 international visitors, a figure that underscores its global reach. Of these, approximately 66 percent traveled specifically to attend the event, highlighting the festival’s strong influence in driving tourism demand.

This group, identified as “Festival-Passion Tourists,” accounted for 3,546 unique visitors whose trips were directly motivated by the event. Their presence translated into substantial financial impact across multiple sectors.

On average, these visitors spent $2,447.88 per trip and stayed for just over six days. Combined, their spending generated a direct economic impact of $8.68 million. When indirect effects are included, the total contribution rises to $13.48 million.

The spending was distributed across key sectors such as hotels, restaurants, transportation, and retail, providing a broad-based stimulus to the local economy.

The figures highlight the importance of major international events in supporting economic diversification and strengthening Curaçao’s tourism sector. As global competition for visitors intensifies, events like the North Sea Jazz Festival play a central role in attracting high-value travelers.

The findings confirm that the festival is not only a cultural highlight but also a critical economic engine for the island.
