Local, | By Correspondent May 15, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – Museum Week Curaçao 2026 will be entirely dedicated to Museo Aeronautiko Kòrsou and aviation pioneer Cedric Bronswinkel, according to the official invitation for the opening of the annual cultural event.

The official opening ceremony will take place on Monday, May 18, coinciding with International Museum Day, at the aviation museum located on Kaya Karbonstein in Tera Kòrá.

The event is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and is being organized by the Association of Museums & Heritage of Curaçao.

With the selection of Museo Aeronautiko Kòrsou as the central focus of this year’s edition, Curaçao’s museum sector is placing special emphasis on the island’s aviation heritage. The museum, which highlights the history of aviation in Curaçao and the wider region, will play a prominent role in the island’s cultural calendar throughout 2026.

This year’s Museum Week is also being dedicated to Cedric Bronswinkel, who is regarded within Curaçao’s aviation community as an important figure in preserving and promoting the island’s aviation history.

The annual Museum Week serves as a platform to promote Curaçao’s cultural institutions, heritage sites, and historical preservation efforts while encouraging public interest in the island’s history and identity.
