WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao maintains one of the Caribbean’s most balanced tourism profiles between luxury and economy travel, according to the Caribbean Travel Trends 2026 report published by Amadeus and the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA).
The report analyzed premium and economy airline travel patterns across the Caribbean and found that Curaçao closely matches the regional average in terms of traveler mix.
According to the study, 7.6 percent of all tourist arrivals to the Caribbean now travel in premium cabin classes.
While destinations such as Anguilla, Saint Barthélemy, and Bermuda dominate the luxury tourism segment, Curaçao was identified as a destination with a more balanced profile that combines both high-end and economy travel demand.
Researchers noted that this balance can provide greater long-term resilience because destinations are less dependent on one single travel segment.
The report also highlights the growing importance of Latin American travelers in driving premium tourism demand throughout the Caribbean. Demand from Latin America increased by 24 percent year over year, while premium travel from South America surged by 117 percent.
Countries such as Peru and Argentina recorded especially strong increases in premium travel demand to the Caribbean.
According to the report, Caribbean destinations that successfully diversify their visitor base and adapt to changing travel patterns will be best positioned to remain competitive in the years ahead.
