Curaçao Lions Club Installs New Board for 2026–2027 Service Year

WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Lions Club officially installed its new board for the 2026–2027 service year during a festive Installation Night held on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

During the ceremony, Glyraine Jukema-Celestina was installed as president of the Curaçao Lions Club for a second consecutive term. Together with the newly appointed board, she will continue building on the achievements and initiatives of the previous service year.

The theme for the new Lions year is: “Building on Our Legacy, Serving Our Future.”

With this motto, the Curaçao Lions Club emphasizes its commitment to honoring its rich history while continuing to innovate and respond to the changing needs of the Curaçao community.

During the coming year, the club will continue and strengthen its existing projects, with special attention to areas including healthcare, youth development, support for seniors, environmental initiatives, and assistance for vulnerable groups in society.

The Lions Club will also continue expanding its cooperation with other organizations and developing new initiatives aimed at creating a positive and lasting impact on the community.

During the Installation Night, special recognition was also given to several Lions members who distinguished themselves through their dedication and service during the past year. Various awards and acknowledgments were presented in appreciation of their leadership, commitment, and years of volunteer work.

President Glyraine Jukema-Celestina expressed confidence in the year ahead.

“We are not starting this new year from zero. We are building on a strong foundation, on the dedication of our members, and on 80 years of service to our community. Together, we want to continue growing, innovating, and above all, continue doing what Lions stand for: serving those who need us,” she said.

Founded in 1946, the Curaçao Lions Club has dedicated eight decades to serving the Curaçao community. In the 2026–2027 service year, the organization will continue its mission with commitment and enthusiasm under the international Lions motto:

“We Serve.”
