WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Lions Club marked a major milestone on Saturday, March 28, celebrating 80 years of service and dedication to the community of Curaçao. Since its founding eight decades ago, the organization has worked continuously to provide assistance where it is needed most.

What began with a clear mission—to serve and support the community—has grown into eighty years of civic engagement and social impact. In carrying out its activities, the Curaçao Lions Club follows the Global Causes of Lions Clubs International, a set of worldwide priorities that include fighting hunger, promoting eye care, supporting youth, protecting the environment, providing disaster relief and combating childhood cancer.
Over the past 80 years, the club has carried out numerous projects and initiatives that have had a lasting positive impact on Curaçaoan society. These efforts range from local aid programs and educational initiatives to long-term support for vulnerable groups on the island. Throughout its history, the organization has been guided by its core motto: “We Serve.”
During the anniversary celebration, members not only reflected on the club’s rich history but also looked ahead to the future. The Curaçao Lions Club expressed gratitude for the trust and support it has received over the years from the community, partners and volunteers.
With renewed energy, the club says it is committed to continuing its work for many years to come and hopes to serve the people of Curaçao for at least another 80 years.
