Curaçao International Armando Obispo Set for Transfer to RC Lens

Local, | By Correspondent July 17, 2026

EINDHOVEN – Curaçao international defender Armando Obispo is on the verge of completing a transfer from PSV Eindhoven to French Ligue 1 club RC Lens after both clubs reached an agreement on a reported transfer fee of approximately €5.5 million.

The deal appeared to be in danger of collapsing after PSV briefly ended negotiations. However, according to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the decision prompted RC Lens to move quickly and finalize an agreement with the Eindhoven club.

Only a medical examination remains before the transfer becomes official. Obispo is expected to sign a four-year contract with the French club.

The move marks the end of a long chapter in Eindhoven for the 27-year-old defender. Obispo joined PSV’s youth academy at the age of seven and progressed through every level of the club’s development system.

With the exception of a loan spell at Vitesse, Obispo spent his entire professional career with PSV. Since making his first-team debut in 2018, he played 112 official matches for the club and scored six goals.

Although he extended his PSV contract last year until 2027, Obispo’s strong performances during the past season, combined with his appearance at the FIFA World Cup with Curaçao, increased his profile and opened the door to a move abroad.

The transfer to RC Lens represents a major step in Obispo’s career as he prepares for a new challenge in one of Europe’s top football leagues.
