WILLEMSTAD – Federashon di Futbòl Kòrsou (FFK) is set to officially present the final Curaçao national team squad this morning ahead of the island’s upcoming international matches and World Cup campaign.
The press conference is scheduled to take place at 10:00 a.m. local time in the federation’s VIP Room. National team coach Dick Advocaat will provide explanations about his player selections through a live video connection.
The squad announcement had originally been planned for last week. However, the presentation was postponed following the sudden departure of former coach Fred Rutten and the subsequent return of Dick Advocaat to lead the team once again.
The announcement will now officially clarify the player group selected for Curaçao’s preparation matches and the upcoming World Cup tournament.
Curaçao is scheduled to play a friendly match against Scotland national football team on May 30 in Glasgow.
A farewell match against Aruba national football team will follow on June 6 at the SDK Stadium.
Curaçao’s official World Cup campaign under Advocaat will begin on June 14 against Germany national football team.
The team will then face Ecuador national football team on June 20 and Ivory Coast national football team on June 25 during the group stage.
The upcoming tournament marks one of the biggest moments in Curaçao football history as the island continues building its international profile under the “Blue Wave” identity.
