WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao FinTech Association (CFA) has announced the appointment of its new board of directors for the 2026–2028 term, marking a new phase in the development of the island’s financial technology sector.

The new board, effective March 1, 2026, includes representatives from key players within Curaçao’s FinTech ecosystem. CX Pay will serve as chairman, represented by David Levy Maduro, while Ibis Management Associates, represented by Morales Esajas, takes on the role of vice chair. Sentoo, represented by Vincent van Rutten, will act as secretary, and Ictual, represented by Geraume Bor, will serve as treasurer.

Three of the four founding members—CX Pay, Ibis Management, and Ictual—remain on the board, ensuring continuity in leadership. The association, founded in November 2021, was established as the first and only FinTech organization on the island, aimed at representing the interests of companies involved in digital payments and financial technology.

Since its creation, the CFA has played an active role in shaping Curaçao’s digital economy. It has engaged with government institutions, regulators, and industry stakeholders, including participation in the National Payments Council convened by the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten.

The association has also contributed to policy discussions, appearing before Curaçao Parliament on multiple occasions to provide input on legislation affecting the FinTech and digital payments sector.

Membership of the CFA continues to grow. As of March 2026, new members such as BitKaya, Caribbean Credit Bureau, and Digicel have joined, bringing the total number of members to a diverse group of companies, institutions, and stakeholders across the financial and technology sectors.

Looking ahead, the new board has set its focus on expanding the association’s reach beyond Curaçao. Plans include strengthening regional collaboration by supporting the development of FinTech ecosystems on neighboring islands and working with similar organizations across the Caribbean.

The CFA says these efforts are aimed at fostering innovation, improving payment systems, and strengthening Curaçao’s position as a competitive hub for financial technology in the region.
