WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao's historic FIFA World Cup campaign has earned another remarkable distinction, this time off the pitch. The island's supporters have officially been recognized as the friendliest fan base at the tournament.
According to the results of a survey conducted among more than 5,000 residents in the U.S. host cities, Curaçao's Blue Wave supporters received the highest ratings for hospitality, friendliness and the atmosphere they created throughout the tournament.
Americans who participated in the survey said Curaçao's fans were the easiest to approach and chat with, praising their welcoming attitude and positive interactions with locals and fellow football supporters.
The survey also highlighted the Caribbean energy brought by the Blue Wave supporters, whose vibrant blue colors filled the stadiums and whose festive, family-oriented atmosphere left a lasting impression across the United States.
Curaçao finished ahead of fan bases from Australia, Scotland and Colombia in the international friendliness rankings.
The recognition adds another memorable chapter to Curaçao's debut appearance on football's biggest stage. While the national team made history by competing in its first-ever FIFA World Cup, the island's supporters also emerged as ambassadors for Curaçao, earning widespread praise for their sportsmanship and warm hospitality.
The survey was conducted by Cherry Data Signals among residents living in the American cities that hosted World Cup matches.
