WILLEMSTAD – Curaçao has officially entered its high cruise season, with October marking the beginning of a busier period for cruise ship arrivals and thousands of passengers expected to visit the island in the coming months.
The start of the high season traditionally brings increased activity to Willemstad, particularly in Punda and Otrobanda, as cruise passengers visit the city’s shopping areas, restaurants, attractions and historic districts. Tour operators, taxi drivers and other businesses connected to the tourism industry also benefit from the increased number of visitors.
October marks the beginning of a period in which cruise traffic typically intensifies as the Caribbean enters its main cruise season.
The cruise schedule provides residents, businesses and visitors with an overview of the ships expected to call at Curaçao and can help businesses prepare for days when larger numbers of passengers are expected in the city.
Curaçao Chronicle will publish the cruise schedule so readers can keep track of the vessels expected to arrive during the high season.
The schedule is subject to changes, as cruise lines may adjust arrival and departure times or itineraries because of operational or weather-related circumstances.
